Nicollet 61, GHEC 42

NICOLLET – Emily Skrien’s 20-point night helped the Nicollet girls’ basketball team earn a nonconference win against Granada-Huntley-East Chain on Friday.

Kayla Giefer added seven points and 11 rebounds for the Raiders and Katelyn Skrien contributed 10 points.

The Mustangs were led by Rachel Shumski with 16 points.

Nicollet (7-3) will host Le Sueur-Henderson today.

Springfield 61, GFW 38

SPRINGFIELD – Springfield stretched a six-point halftime lead into a convincing win in Tomahawk Conference girls basketball action Friday night.

Jordan Salonek led the Tigers with 22 points and seven rebounds and Kasey Kretsch had 10 points and three assists. Therese Roiger finished with six rebounds and four steals and Sam Groebner had six points and five rebounds.

For GFW, Eve Bleick finished with 13 points and Halley Busse had eight points.

Springfield (6-5, 3-3) hosts Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Tuesday. Springfield (3-7) hosts Litchfield on Tuesday.

Wabasso 75, BLHS 31

WABASSO – Kimberly Frank led Wabasso with 19 points in a Tomahawk Conference game against Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart Friday.

Chelsey Guetter had 12 points, eight rebounds and two blocks for the Rabbits. Kacie Rothmeier added 10 points.

Hannah VanderVoort scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds for BLHS.

BLHS (0-7 overall, 0-6 in conference) will play Monday at BOLD.

Wabasso (7-1 overall, 4-0 in conference) will play at Minnesota Valley Lutheran Tuesday.

CM/C 54, Sleepy Eye 48

MORGAN – Cedar Mountain/Comfrey defeated Sleepy Eye Friday in Tomahawk Conference girls basketball.

Allison Madsen led the Cougars with 22 points and four steals. Andrea Ochs had 13 points.

Justine Gonzalez led the Indians with 11 points, five rebounds and four assists and Claire Krumbach had 10 points, 15 rebounds and five assists.

CM/C led 29-28 at halftime.

The Cougars (5-4, 3-2) host Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s on Tuesday and Sleepy Eye (3-8) host New Ulm Cathedral on Tuesday.
