NU-Telecom acquires Sleepy Eye Telephone Company
NEW ULM – NU-Telecom announced the completion of its acquisition of Sleepy Eye Telephone Company, effective Dec. 31, 2012.
This transaction is a result of the spin-off from Hector Communications Corporation, which was jointly owned by New Ulm Telecom, Inc., Arvig Enterprises, Inc. and Blue Earth Valley Communications, Inc. The three owner/shareholder companies of Hector Communications entered into a spin-off agreement under which Hector agreed to distribute its independent local exchange company subsidiaries to its three owners/shareholders. As a result of this acquisition, NU-Telecom will now also serve the communities of Sleepy Eye, Goodhue, Hanska, White Rock, Mazeppa and Bellchester.
