PREP BOYS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Rabbits rally past Chargers

Wabasso 72, MVL 66

WABASSO – The Wabasso boys’ basketball team rallied from a 40-25 deficit at halftime to defeat Minnesota Valley Lutheran in a Tomahawk Conference match-up on Monday.

Seth Guetter (19 points, 11 rebounds) helped pace the Rabbits’ rally by going 4-for-5 from behind the 3-point arc in the second half. Also making top contributions for Wabasso were Neil Eichten (31 points) and Tanner Bock (10 points, 16 rebounds).

Leading the way for MVL were Nick Dewanz with 16 points, Kris Goetzke with 12 points and Chad Lease with 10 points.

Wabasso (5-6, 3-2) will host Sleepy Eye on Thursday. MVL (0-11) will host Cedar Mountain/Comfrey on Friday.

RV 59, New Ulm 43

REDWOOD?FALLS – Redwood Valley defeated New Ulm in a non-conference boys’ basketball game on Monday.

Jackson Yackley led the Eagles with 16 points.

New Ulm will host Blue Earth Area at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Springfield 63, SWU 52

SPRINGFIELD – Tyler Vogel led the Springfield boys’ basketball team with 20 points in a non-conference victory against Southwest United on Monday.

Isaac Kirschstein had 13 points and nine rebounds for the Tigers, Jacob Menage added 10 points and Cole Milbrath contributed 11 rebounds.

Andrew Kramer led the Wildcats with 16 points.

Springfield (8-3) will travel to play Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Thursday.
