New Ulm man wins $100,000 Lottery prize
NEW ULM – A local man who won $100,000 playing the Lottery’s Minnesota Millionaire Raffle game said he plans to shop for a golfing cart, pay off a home mortgage and save the rest of the money.
Michael Marquardt, who works at New Ulm Body Shop, claimed the prize Jan. 8. His ticket number matched one of five winning numbers drawn in the Raffle. He bought the winning ticket at New Ulm Quick Mart, 1400 N. Broadway.
“I’ve been playing the scratch-off game for a couple years. I won $100 a few times but nothing like this before,” Marquardt said.
The Minnesota Millionaire Raffle game began Oct. 30, 2012 with 600,000 tickets available. The game sold out on Dec. 19, 2012.
