NICOLLET – Rose Anderson, 82, of Nicollet. died Monday, January 14, 2013 at the Benedictine Living Center in St. Peter.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Friday, January 18 at the Norseland Lutheran Church in Norseland with Pastor Craig Ferkenstad officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at church on Friday.

Rose is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Kenneth Eckstrand of Gibbon, Marlene and Ron Marti of New Ulm; sons and daughter-in-law, Terry and Sandy Anderson of Glencoe, Bruce Anderson of Nicollet; grandchildren, Tim Krohn, Charlie and Mallory Eckstrand, Amanda Anderson, Laura Anderson, Michelle Johnson, Keith Anderson; great-grandchildren, TJ, Jenna, Isabelle, Samantha, Andrew; and by a great- great-granddaughter, Jacie; sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Tom Robb of Waterville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Henry Anderson; a daughter Violet in infancy; a sister, Dorothy Nichols; and by her brothers, Robert and William Nichols.
Rose Nichols was born July 25, 1930 in St. Paul to Edward and Ada (Glacklar) Nichols. She was united in marriage to Henry Anderson on April 8, 1950 at the Norseland Lutheran Church in Norseland. After marriage they farmed in rural Nicollet her entire married life. She was also employed as a nurses aide at the Highland Manor Nursing Home in New Ulm, Lafayette Good Samaritan Home and then as a gardener at Traverse des Sioux Garden Center. Rose enjoyed quilting, reading, crossword puzzles, gardening and especially her dogs and cats.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Brown County Humane Society.
