St. Peter 75, New Ulm 54

ST. PETER – St. Peter defeated New Ulm Friday night in South Central Conference boys basketball action.

Jackson Yackley led the Eagles with 20 points, five rebounds and three steals. Grant Kannegiesser scored 17 points and he had six rebounds.

The Eagles (4-12, 2-3) play at St. James Thursday night.

Springfield 57,

Sleepy Eye 49

SLEEPY EYE – Springfield had two players in double figures as the Tigers defeated Sleepy Eye Friday night in Tomahawk Conference boys basketball action.

Christopher Kretsch and Tyler Vogel each scored 14 points for Springfield.

Jake Trebesch scored 17 points and had 10 rebounds while Brandon Polesky scored 11 points and had seven rebounds for the Indians.

Sleepy Eye (4-8, 2-6) plays at Red Rock Central Tuesday night. Springfield (10-4, 5-2) hosts Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s Tuesday night.

St. Clair 53,

Madelia 48

MADELIA-Ryan Kruse and Tyler Fandrick led St. Clair over Madelia in a Valley Conference boys basketball game Friday night.

Kruse scored 24 points and Fandrick added 14 points for the Cyclones.

Devin Ulmen scored 10 points for the Blackhawks.

Madelia (2-10, 1-7) travels to Nicollet Monday night.

St. Mary’s 83, RRC 58

SLEEPY EYE – Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s was led by Sean Mathiowetz with 27 points in a non-conference boys basketball win against Red Rock Central Friday night.

Kansas Adams of St. Mary’s scored 20 points and Jordan Anderson added 13.

Jeff DeCock led RRC with 23 points. Henry Rogotzke had 15 points and Austin Price added 15.

RRC (5-6 overall, 3-3 in Red Rock Conference) will host Sleepy Eye Tuesday.

St. Mary’s (10-3 overall, 6-2 in conference) will travel to Springfield Tuesday.

MVL 73, GFW 68

WINTHROP – Minnesota Valley Lutheran came away with a win in overtime against Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Friday in a Tomahawk Conference game.

MVL and GFW were tied 64-64 at the end of regulation. In overtime, MVL held GFW to only four points as it took the victory. Nick Dewanz of MVL scored 16 points and Ryan Grunke added 15 points.

GFW’s Seth Schuette had 22 points and Brett Rickheim added 20 points.

GFW (5-8 overall) will play at Cedar Mountain/Comfrey Tuesday.

MVL (2-12) will travel to Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart Tuesday.
