PREP BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Waseca blows past New Ulm girls in SCC

Waseca girls 62, New Ulm 20

WASECA – New Ulm fell to Waseca 62-20 in a South Central Conference girls’ basketball game Thursday.

Ellie Schneider led the Eagles with eight points, while Hunter Ahlness had five points.

New Ulm (0-16, 0-8) hosts LeSueur-Henderson on Tuesday.

Jordan boys 77, Sibley East 71

ARLINGTON – Brian Hartman scored 22 points as Jordan defeated Sibley East in Minnesota River Conference boys basketball Thursday.

Max Grabow led Sibley East with 28 points and 12 rebounds and Brody Rodning scored 12 points. Tyler Bates and Sam Harrison each scored 10.

Sibley East (9-7) is at New Ulm Cathedral on Monday.

Sleepy Eye boys 75, T/ML 67

SLEEPY EYE – Brandon Polesky scored a team-high 21 points to help the Sleepy Eye boys’ basketball team edge Truman/Martin Luther in a non-conference game on Thursday.

Polesky also chipped in with seven rebounds for the Indians.

Sleepy Eye senior John Mangen had 12 points and fellow senior Matt Schroepfer added 10 points.

Sam Geistfeld led T/ML with 22 points.

Sleepy Eye (6-10) will play at Minnesota Valley Lutheran tonight in a Tomahawk Conference clash.
