MLC men’s basketball falls to Saints

DULUTH – The Martin Luther College men’s basketball team was unable to hold off St. Scholastica down he stretch in an 82-73 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference loss Saturday evening.

The Knights held a two-point lead at 67-65 with 5:21 to play, but the Saints rattled off eight straight points to start a 17-6 run to close out the game.

Galen Holzhueter finished as the high scorer for MLC with 24 points. Luke Rothe added 16 points, while Justin Eternick scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

MLC (4-17 overall, 3-7 in UMAC play) will return to action at 7:30 p.m. on Friday when it hosts North Central.
