GFW boys hold off Wabasso, GFW girls win
GFW boys 70,
WABASSO – Brett Rickheim’s 27 points led Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop to a win over Wabasso in a boys basketball Tomahawk Conference game on Thursday night.
Seth Schuette scored 12 points on the night for the Thunderbirds.
The Rabbits were led by Neil Eichten, who scored 23 points. Tanner Bock also scored 13 points.
Wabasso (8-12, 5-7) will travel to Minnesota Valley Lutheran today.
GFW (6-12, 4-8) will host Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity on Monday night.

St. James 53
ST. JAMES – Halley Busse scored 26 points as the Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop girls basketball team defeated St. James in a non-conference matchup on Thursday night.
Busse was joined in double figures by Eve Bleick, who scored 13 points in the victory.
The Saints were led by Emily Hurley with 17 points, while Julia Beckius scored 16 points in the defeat.
GFW improves to 4-16 with the win and will play at LeSueur-Henderson tonight. St. James drops to 4-15 and will play at Blue Earth Area tonight.

HECTOR – Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart lost at home to Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity in Thursday night girls basketball non-conference action.
Hannah VanderVoort scored 22 points for the Mustangs. Another contributer was Michelle Melsha, who scored 12 points on the night.
The results for LPHT were unavailable.
BLHS (1-17, 1-13) will host Springfield today.
Mankato Loyola 66, Nicollet 40
NICOLLET – Nicollet fell to Mankato Loyola in a Valley Conference showcase girls basketball game on Thursday night.
Lindsey Theunick hit eight 3-point baskets for Loyola and scored a game-high 32 points on the night. Katelyn Skrien scored 13 points to go along with her 10 rebounds for the Raiders.
Nicollet (11-9) will travel to SW Christian tonight.
