Springfield boys defeat Mustangs

Springfield 78, BLHS 56

SPRINGFIELD – Springfield defeated Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart Friday night in a Tomahawk Conference boys basketball game.

The Tigers had four players in double figures. Cole Milbrath and Tyler each scored 16 points, while Christopher Kretsch scored 14 points and Cooper Scheffler added 10 points.

Mason Clark led BLHS with 25 points while Ryan Colter scored 12 points and Kyle Kubesh added 10 points.

Springfield (14-5, 10-3) travels to Wabasso (8-12, 5-7) Tuesday night and BLHS (10-8, 7-7) hosts BOLD Tuesday night.

Sleepy Eye 53,

Cathedral 45

SLEEPY EYE – John Mangen scored 13 points to lead Sleepy Eye to a Tomahawk Conference win against New Ulm Cathedral Friday.

Mangen also had eight rebound on the night. Brandon Polesky and Matt Schroepfer each added 10 points for Sleepy Eye. Polesky added seven assists and Schroepfer added eight rebounds.

Cathedral’s Jeff Osborne scored 12 points and Jacob Gangelhoff added 10 points.

Cathedral will host Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s Tuesday. Sleepy Eye (7-13 overall, 4-8 in conference) will host Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Tuesday.

Sibley East 83, Tri City 54

ARLINGTON – Sibley East defeated Tri City United in nonconference boys basketball Friday.

Max Grabow led Sibley East with 22 points and Tyler Bates scored 16 points. Sam Harrison scored 15 and Brody Rodning scored 11.

Sibley East hosts Glencoe-Silver Lake Monday.

Cleveland 68 Madelia 55

MADELIA – Cleveland defeated Madelia in a Valley Conference boys basketball game Friday.

Jack Bergeman scored 25 points for Madelia.

St. Mary’s 112, CM/C 103

MORGAN – Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s outgunned Cedar Mountain/Comfrey Friday in Tomahawk Conference boys action.
