PREP GIRLS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Wabasso seals Tomahawk Conference crown

Wabasso 57, Springfield 48

SPRINGFIELD – Wabasso defeated Springfield Tuesday night, clinching the girls basketball Tomahawk Conference championship with the victory.

Larissa Rohlik scored 17 points for Wabasso, while Kimberly Frank and Chelsey Guetter each added 14 points. Guetter had 12 rebounds.

Jordan Salonek scored 13 points and Kasey Kretsch had 10 assists for Springfield.

Wabasso (22-2, 14-1) will play at Cedar Mountain/Comfrey Friday night, while Springfield (12-10, 9-7) hosts Truman Friday night.

GFW 66, Sleepy Eye 61

WINTHROP – Lexi Jensen and Halley Busse led Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop over Sleepy Eye in Tomahawk Conference girls basketball Tuesday night.

Jensen finished with 23 points and had 10 rebounds while Busse had 22 points. Eve Bleick had 10 points and four assists for GFW.

Claire Krumbach led Sleepy Eye with 22 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks. Justine Gonzalez had 16 points and McKayla Ahlrich had 10 points and 14 rebounds.

GFW (6-16) will play at Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s on Thursday and Sleepy Eye (6-17) will host Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Friday.
