Russell “Russ” Dauer
HANSKA – Russell “Russ” Dauer, 52, of Hanska, died Monday, February 18, 2013 at the Golden Living Center-Whitewater in St. Charles.
A private family service will be held Wednesday, February 20, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH Chapel in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery.

Russ is survived by his parents, Roland and Elaine Dauer of Hanska; a sister, Colleen Dauer of New Ulm; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rodney and Jan Dauer of Hutchinson, Steve and Dina Dauer of Rochester.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Russell Eugene Dauer was born April 29, 1960 in New Ulm to Roland and Elaine (Neidecker) Dauer. He attended New Ulm High School. Russ’s greatest joy was working with God’s earth fields, farming and gardening, he liked to see things grow. He had a strong work ethic and also enjoyed cooking for family gatherings and working on the family farm. As a young man he was employed combining grain in many other states, later he worked as a hired hand for Hanska area farmers. He later worked for Geistfeld Hog Farms and then semi-retired to the family farm near Lake Hanska. Russ loved old time music and having a good time.
He was a unique and special person, and will be missed and remembered by his family.
