Walter “Wally” “Mouse” Bauer
NEW?ULM – Walter “Wally” “Mouse” Bauer, 70, of New Ulm died Monday, February 18, 2013 at his home.
Funeral service will be 12 noon Saturday, February 23, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm with Monsignor Douglas Grams officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Searles.
Visitation will be 9 AM to 12 noon on Saturday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm.

Wally is survived by his wife, Joyce Dauer of New Ulm; sisters and brothers-in-law, LaVonne (Sister Louise) Bauer of St. Paul, Diane and Tom Portner of New Ulm, Mary Ann and John Mingo of Prior Lake, Jane Hoffman of New Ulm; brothers and sisters-in-law, Patrick and Kathleen Bauer of Bend, Oregon, Roger and Joyce Bauer, Tom and Sandy Bauer, all of New Ulm.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Andrew; and by aunts and uncles.
Walter John Bauer was born March 11, 1942 in New Ulm to George and Louise (Domeier) Bauer. He attended New Ulm Catholic Schools. Wally drove truck for over 52 years for Beaver Transport, Hesse and Abraham, Montgomery Ward, Tru Valu Hardware and Aschenbrenner Trucking. He also owned and operated Goosetown Storage for 7 years. Mouse was very proud of being born and raised in Goosetown and being a true “Goosetowner”. Wally played bass tuba and was the front man with the Northside Dutchmen for over 25 years. He enjoyed playing sheephead, collecting toys, stock trading, old tyme music and helping others. Wally was united in marriage to Joyce Dauer on August 10, 2005 in New Ulm.
Anita Hoffman and Eddie Palmer will play a musical tribute to Mouse at his funeral service.
