Hannah Hackbarth Named Second Team All-UMAC
NEW ULM – Martin Luther College women’s basketball player Hannah Hackbarth was named Second Team All-Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Tuesday. Teammates Alex Anthon and Brittney Gossen each received honorable mention.
Hackbarth led MLC in scoring, averaging 11.9 points per game. She did much of her damage from beyond the 3-point arc, setting a MLC single-season record with 59 made 3-point field goals this season. She also averaged 4.5 rebounds per game, and finished the season with 37 steals.
Anthon finished the season as one of the top playmakers in the conference. The sophomore wing led the UMAC in assists (59), and finished second in steals (42) during league play. She also finished second on the team in points per game (10.0) and three-point field goals (23).
Gossen led the MLC defense, pressuring opposing point guards and helping MLC finish in the top two in conference in points per game and field goal percentage allowed during the UMAC season. She also averaged 9.0 points per game, and finished second on the team in assists (78).
Gossen was also named the MLC recipient of the Sportsmanship Award, given to one player on each team who best exemplified sportsmanship during the season.
