Grand Center hires executive director
NEW ULM – The Grand Center for Arts and Culture has hired it first executive director. Lisa Knaak, originally from Nicollet, began working full time on March 1.
Prior to joining The Grand, Lisa served as the visual arts assistant of the nonprofit Paramount Visual Arts Center in St. Cloud. At the Paramount, her responsibilities included organization and management of the visual arts studios and programming.
She was also responsible for grants writing and administration, marketing, event organization, public art proposals as well as hands-on development of a public art commissions in downtown St. Cloud.
Knaak received her B.A. in business management and organizational behavior from the College of St. Scholastica. She also studied photography before going to college.
Knaak will working with the Grand Center for Arts and Culture board of directors who plan for an early summer opening of the newly renovated center.
