Farm Show wraps up with strong attendance
NEW ULM – The 32nd annual Hub Club Farm Show wrapped up its events at the New Ulm Civic Center on Saturday with a turnout of around 3,500 people over two days.
A variety of booths offered agricultural programs, products and equipment to visitors at the show.
One booth was hosted by AKE Safety Equipment, based in Rochester. The company makes fire extinguishers which utilize fire suppression gas over compressed power of traditional fire extinguishers, making them free of annual maintainence.
A spokesperson for the company said they average selling eight to 10 extinguishers per farm, since every farm statistically faces at least one fire every 10 years.
There was a total of 114 booths on display, including a new booth by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) which answered questions on Minnesota’s environmental regulation rules.
