NICOLLET – Joyce Arndt, 84, of Nicollet, died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Mayo Health Systems in Mankato.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Friday, March 15, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland with Pastor Wayne Bernau officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Hills Cemetery in Mankato.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Nicollet and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at church on Friday.

Joyce is survived by her daughters, Susan (Paul) Bode of Henning, Laurie (Marvin) Krohn of Nicollet; sons, David (Loretta) Arndt, William (Mitzi) Arndt all of Ottertail; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Bev Strusz of North Mankato.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norbert Arndt; and her brother, Jim Strusz.
Joyce Ella Strusz was born Dec. 10, 1928 in Mankato to Clemence and Violet (Koopman) Strusz. She was united in marriage to Norbert Arndt on Sept. 9, 1948 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in North Mankato. After marriage they farmed and raised their family on the Arndt family farm in Oshawa Township, Nicollet County. Joyce enjoyed gardening, flowers, quilting, reading, cooking and puzzles. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joyce was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Courtland.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church, American Cancer Society and the American Lung Association.
