NEW ULM – Ronald Borchert, 63, of New Ulm died Thursday, March 21, 2013 at his home.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm with Deacon Steve Spilman officiating the service. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Ronald is survived by his aunts and uncles, Shirley and Jim Kline of New Ulm, Lois and Roger Currier of Nicollet, Mary Jane and Robert Kamm of Madelia, Ruth and Gene Hancock of Oklahoma, Carol and Doyle Holloway of Arkansas, Bill and Kathy Trautmiller of New Ulm, and Tom and Doris Trautmiller of New Ulm. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oran Borchert and Alice (Trautmiller) Tassinari; brother, Lee Borchert; special grandma, Anna Trautmiller; aunts and uncles, Ann and Bill Schuerer, Fred and Vivian Trautmiller, and George Trautmiller.
Ronald Walter Borchert was born Sept. 8, 1949, in New Ulm to Oran and Alice Trautmiller. He enjoyed working at MRCI and loved traveling, eating, beer, animals, listening to Michael Jackson and Elvis, and playing his guitar. He was a very sociable person and enjoyed gatherings and spending time with his family and friends. He participated in the Special Olympics and was a member of ARS. Ronald was always surrounded by wonderful caregivers throughout the years and they were much appreciated by his family.
Memorials are preferred to the Forever Home Animal Sanctuary in New Ulm.
