Leone Maye Klossner

NEW?ULM – Leone Maye Klossner, 92, of New Ulm, died Monday, March 25, 2013, at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, March 28, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm with Pastor Grant Bode officiating. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30- 11a.m. Thursday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm.

Leone is survived by her five children, Wayne (Kathy) Luepke of Courtland, Lynn (Diane) Luepke of St. Ansgar, Iowa, Lonny Luepke and Bradley Luepke, both of New Ulm, and Virjean (Max) Griensewic of Mankato. She is survived by fourteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two stepgrandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Hillard (Jake) Klossner and her sister Verna Boesch, both of New Ulm.

She was preceded in death by her brother Roland Klossner and her daughter-in-law, Laura Luepke.

Leone was born on April 15, 1920, in Lafayette Township, Nicollet County, to Fred and Lydia (Duehn) Klossner. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. On April 15, 1939, she married Wilbert Luepke at St. Paul’s. They farmed for many years in Courtland Township and were later divorced.
