GIBBON – Maxine Larson, 94, of Gibbon, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at the Southview Living Center in Gibbon.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Friday, March 29, at First Lutheran Church in Winthrop with Pastor David Winterfeldt officiating. Burial will be in the Winthrop Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday and from 7:30-11 a.m. Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Friday. To leave an online condolence for her family or to sign the guestbook go to: www.mvfh.org.
Maxine is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Margaret Larson, Mary and Cal Roberts all of Gibbon, sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Carol Larson, Mark and Jan Larson all of Gibbon; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl “Arvid” Larson on Nov. 21, 2002; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Esther Huffman, Warren and Iris Huffman.
Maxine Huffman was born on April 9, 1918 in Erie, Ill., to Frank and Malinda (Bartels) Huffman. On Dec. 14, 1946 she was united in marriage to Carl “Arvid” Larson at the Congregation Church in Winthrop. After marriage they farmed in Cornish Township, Sibley County until 1993 when they moved to Gibbon. Maxine loved to sew, garden, play cards and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Winthrop, the Senior Citizens of Gibbon, Senior Quilters, and the Cornish Township Extension Group.
