PREP BOYS’ TENNIS: Eagles blank Cardinals

REDWOOD FALLS – The New Ulm boys tennis team opened the season with a victory on Tuesday, defeating Redwood Valley 7-0.

At No. 1 singles, Alex King defeated Taylor Redstock 5-7, 6-3 (7-2). At second singles, Calvin Cullum Jr. defeated Tyler Hagen 6-3, 6-4 and at No. 3 singles, Josh Koelpin defeated Max Russel 6-2, 6-3.

At No. 4 singles, David Stuck defeated Shawn Sherman 6-4, 6-4.

At first doubles, Isaiah Johnson and Noah Stocker defeated Dallas Greenslit and Armado Davilla 6-1, 6-1. At No. 2 doubles, Billy Griffith and Sam Frederickson defeated Jordan Rasmussen and Cole Pettis 6-4, 6-1 and at third doubles, Taylor Tamborino and Nic Gartner defeated Nate Bensen and John Lammers 6-0, 6-0.

The Eagles (1-0) play again on Friday when they host Fairmont.
