Lee Lambrecht

NEW ULM – Lee Lambrecht, 92, of New Ulm, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 6, at the United Church of Christ in New Ulm with Pastor Hank Campbell officiating. Burial will be in the New Ulm City Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday and from 7:30-8 a.m. Saturday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, South Chapel, in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Saturday. Lee is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Carol and LeRoy Schapekahm of New Ulm, and their children, Jodi (John) Sparr, Jana (Kendall) Piotter, James Schapekahm, Jason (Lizette) Schapekahm; sons and daughters-in-law, Allan and Laurie Lambrecht of Evergreen, Colorado, and their sons, Matthew and Christopher; Curt and Donna Lambrecht of New Ulm, and their children, Mary, Tessa, Ross, and Lee; daughter-in-law, Carol Ann Lambrecht of Chanhassen and her daughter, Lora (Steve) Pedersen; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Valeska on June 28, 2008; sons, Ronald and Steven; granddaughter, Beth Lambrecht; sister and brother-in-law, Melba and Leland Schulz; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Valene and Elmer Besemer; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl and Linda Schulz.

Lee William Lambrecht was born on Aug. 1, 1920 in Milford Township, Brown County to Edwin and Esther (Mecklenburg) Lambrecht. On Feb. 10, 1941 he was united in marriage to Valeska Schulz in New Ulm. They farmed at their Evergreen Farm near Essig until 1994 when they moved to New Ulm. He was also a Pioneer Seed Corn salesman, served on the Essig Creamery Board, District 50 School Board and an active member of the United Church of Christ in New Ulm.

Memorials are preferred to Oak Hills Living Center or Brown County Historical Society.
