Jacqueline “Jackie” Ness
NEW ULM – Jacqueline “Jackie” Ness, 82, of New Ulm, died Saturday, April 13, 2013 at her home in New Ulm.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 17 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm with Father Tony Hesse officiating the service.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.

Jackie is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Anne and Walter Mayer of Minneapolis, Elizabeth Ness and Rick Wezensky of Sheboygan, Mary and Topher Jacobson of New Ulm; sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Diana Ness of Purcellville, Virginia, Joseph and Suzanne Ness of New Ulm; fourteen grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick; mother and step-father, Josephine and Russell Weatherly; and brother, Thomas.
Jacqueline LouJean Angen was born August 31, 1930 in Minneapolis to Josephine (Angen) Weatherly. She earned her Associates Degree in Social Work from the University of Minnesota. On February 23, 1957 Jackie was united in marriage to Dick Ness in Minneapolis. Jackie worked as a waitress for 25 years at the Normandy Inn, Tempo, and Aunt Nora’s in Minneapolis. She then moved on to work at South High School in Minneapolis for 23 years as an outreach worker for at-risk students. She was very active in the Democratic Party. She was also involved in community development in Minneapolis neighborhoods. She never drove and enjoyed walking, biking, and taking the bus around town. Jackie was a very giving and caring person and was always ready to put others first and lend a helping hand to her neighbors. She felt very blessed by her husband, family, and her life. She will be missed by all who knew her.
