Henrich wins Player of the Week
ST. PAUL – Martin Luther College men’s tennis player Scott Henrich was named Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week for his performance in helping MLC to a 9-0 win over Bethany Lutheran College on April 8.
Henrich won his No. 1 singles match against BLC in straight sets by the scores of 6-3 and 6-0, helping the Knights to a sweep in singles in the match.
Henrich also won his doubles match in dominant fashion, teaming with Paul Koester to win the number one doubles match 8-0.
Biedenbender named softball Player of the Week
ST. PAUL – Martin Luther College softball player Andrea Biedenbender was named Upper Midwest Athletic Conference softball Player of the Week for the second time this season after helping MLC to a 4-0 record last week.
Biedenbender hit .615 in four games, going 8-13 with five doubles. She scored five runs, and led the team in runs batted in (seven), on-base percentage (.688), and slugging percentage (1.000).
On the season, Biedenbender is tied for the team lead with a batting average of .491, and leads the team in RBI (18), slugging percentage (.774), on-base percentage (.563), runs scored (20), and hits (26).
Biedenbender and the Knights will return to action Friday, when they play Northwestern in the West St. Paul Dome in a doubleheader scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
