NEW ULM – Dorothy Rewitzer, 82, of New Ulm died Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, North Chapel in New Ulm with Pastor Timothy Smith officiating. Burial will be in the New Ulm City Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 7 p.m. Monday and from 7:30 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, North Chapel in New Ulm. Dorothy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Kay Rewitzer of New Ulm; grandchildren, Jason (Danielle) Rewitzer, Heather (Alex) Saffert all of New Ulm, Kyle Rewitzer of New Ulm and his special friend, Jessica of Mankato; great grandsons, Nolin, Nathan and Isaac Saffert; sisters-in-law, Ann Meyer of Arizona, Elizabeth Kretsch of New Ulm; niece; and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy Rewitzer on May 9, 2009; and a brother, Donald Meyer.
Dorothy Mae Beltz was born on August 9, 1930 in Hillsboro, North Dakota to John and Alice (Meyer) Beltz. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, North Dakota and attended nurses training at the Union Hospital in New Ulm. On May 6, 1956 she was united in marriage to Roy Rewitzer in New Ulm. Dorothy was an LPN at the Union Hospital in New Ulm and retired in 1974. She loved to ride bike and go fishing with her family. Dorothy was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm.
