Highway 14 construction to resume April 29
MANKATO – Work on the four-lane expansion of Highway 14 from North Mankato to County Road 41 will resume on April 29, weather permitting.
Highway 14 traffic will be impacted only minimally this year. Traffic will stay two-way on the eastbound lanes as it is currently. The crossover from the four-lane section will move east to a location between Lookout Drive and LorRay Drive to accommodate Lookout Drive ramp work. Later this summer there will be a night closure for setting beams on the Nicollet County Road 41 bridge.
County Road 41 will remain open to the south roundabout of the new interchange, and area rural residents can continue to use Pleasant View Drive to access North Mankato.
The entire project will be complete this fall.
Mathiowetz Construction of Sleepy Eye is the prime contractor for this second project with a bid of $7,847,506. Mathiowetz Construction was also the contractor on the 2012 project. Total project cost is $16.3 million.
