New Ulm boys dominate home golf meet

New Ulm boys teams take top honors

NEW ULM – The New Ulm boys golf teams took the top two honors Thursday at a home golf meet.

New Ulm Purple won with a 338 and New Ulm White was next with a 344.

New Ulm’s Kelton Schmitz led the Eagles Purple with a 79 and Ethan Kraus shot an 80. Colin Huffman led White with an 82 and Josh Cooper shot an 84.

New Ulm hosts Blue Earth Area on Monday.

New Ulm girls fourth at home meet

NEW ULM – The New Ulm girls golf team finished fourth with a score of 96 at its own meet Thursday.

The team scores were based on the top player for each team. Corinne McKeeth led the Eagles with a 96. Julia Schaefer shot a 108, followed by Tasha Holm (113) and Emily Hartmann (129).

FREEBORN – Mike Sorenson led Madelia, shooting a 43, to lead the Madelia boys to a Valley Conference quadrangular golf meet on Thursday.

Zach Baumgartner (45) and Jordan Henry (46) also had strong performances on the course while Tate Myers contributed with a score of 53.

Madelia’s Haley Simpson shot a 56 and Felicia Pineda shot a 68 for the Blackhawks.
