Comcast, Turner Hall share Comcast Cares Day
NEW ULM – Comcast employees and family teamed with Turner Hall friends and volunteers Saturday for a Comcast Cares Day cleanup of the park at Turner Hall.
Comcast Cares Day is a national event covering all areas served by Comcast. Comcast employees, family and friends come together to conduct community service work in each of their communities.
According to Larry Hildebrandt, New Ulm Comcast, manager, within the Minnesota Region there were over 1,600 volunteers Saturday working on over 60 projects. Business selected are chosen by looking at the different causes they servce within the community, and Comcast also works with their local United Ways to identify projects.
This is the second year in a row their Cares Day has been held at New Ulm Turner Hall. Over 80 volunteers, including Comcast team members, Turner Hall members, staff and friends contributed to the success of the event.
Some of the projects included park clean-up, staining of the deck, upgrading of downstairs kitchen as well as the building of storage facility for trash and recycling containers.
