Sister Idamarie (Irene) Primus

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – Sister Idamarie (Irene) Primus, O.S.B, 90, who served as a parish administrator at St. Catherine’s in Redwood Falls and St. Boniface in Stewart, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at St. Scholastica Convent in St. Joseph.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at the Sacred Heart Chapel, Saint Benedict’s Monastery, St. Joseph. Burial will be in the monastery cemetery. Friends may call at Saint Scholastica Convent on Friday, May 3, from 1-6 p.m., or for a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. at Saint Benedict’s Monastery. Visitation continues at 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral.

Sr. Idamarie (Irene) Primus was born Feb. 4, 1923, to Joseph and Ida (Gummerum) Primus in St. Cloud.

She is survived by her Benedictine community; brother, John; and sisters; Ellen Voight, Alice Hahn, and Leona Roden.

Memorial are preferred to the Saint Scholastica Building Project.
