Morgan Creek to serve award-winning wines at Fishing Opener
NEW ULM Three of Morgan Creek Vineyards’ award-winning wines have been selected to be served at the 2013 Minnesota Governor’s Fishing Opener, Saturday, May 11 during the social hour. The event is hosted this season at the Minnesota Park Rapids Lakes Area Chamber.
Morgan Creek Vineyards was the first fine winery to open in southern Minnesota in 1999, at that time, the fifth winery in Minnesota. Today there are 44 wineries throughout the state.
Morgan Creek Vineyards is a Minnesota Farm Winery, licensed as a small producer that grows its own grapes from a variety of grape cultivars developed by the University of Minnesota Grape Research program. The New Ulm winery also purchases contracted grapes from the northern Minnesota River region at Lac Qui Parle to as far south as Albert Lea.
Colure, Zeitgeist and Relativity are the commercial names of the wines that will be served at the fishing opener.
