St. Mary’s shuts out Wabasso

SLEEPY EYE – Jon Kopacek pitched a complete game shutout as the Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s Knights defeated Wabasso 6-0 Tuesday evening in Tomahawk Conference baseball.

Kopacek had seven strikeouts and allowed just three hits. Jordan Anderson was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Kopacek and Mike Hirsch each had a hit and RBI.

Josh Altermatt took the loss for Wabasso, he allowed four hits and three runs in four innings. Neil Eichten was 2-for-3.

St. Mary’s (8-0) hosts Sleepy Eye on Thursday in a doubleheader and Wabasso plays at BLHS on Thursday in a doubleheader.

LCWM 5, Nicollet 4

LAKE CRYSTAL – The Nicollet baseball team dropped a tough Valley Conference game against Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial Tuesday afternoon.

Jay Hendrycks got the loss on the mound for Nicollet, working five innings, allowing four runs on five hits while striking out four and walking three.

Hendrycks led the Raiders at the plate, going 2-3 with a double and a pair of RBI.

Nicollet drops to 2-2 on the season and will play on Thursday against Cleveland in Nicollet.

Springfield 13, BLHS 3

Springfield 22, BLHS 3

SPRINGFIELD – Springfield swept a Tomahawk Conference doubleheader from Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Tuesday.

Shawn Anderson earned the win in the first game and Jacob Menage had a grand slam and five RBIs for Springfield.

Mason Clark had a double and an RBI and Tate Lange took the loss for BLHS.

Cole Milbrath earned the win in the second game. Cooper Scheffler was 2-for-2 with two RBI and Anderson had three RBI and two hits. Springfield?(9-2) hosts Minnesota Valley Lutheran on Friday.
