MADELIA – The Madelia boys golf team tied for first with Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton, while the girls fell to both St. James and Maple River in a match in Madelia on Tuesday afternoon.
For the boys, Madelia’s Jordan Henry earned medalist honors by shooting a 37. Mike Sorenson followed Henry with a 41, while Chris Cedillo shot 47 and Tate Myers carded a 49.
For the girls, Madelia’s Haley Simpson earned medalist honors by shooting a 47. Felicia Pineda shot 56, Carina Aguilar shot 60, and Briana Aldorf finished with a 69 for Madelia.
The Madelia boys go to 10-1-1 on the year, while the girls drop to 1-8. The next match will be on Friday at St. James.
New Ulm boys 317,
St. Peter 331
ST. PETER – The New Ulm boys golf team defeated St. Peter in a match on Tuesday afternoon at Shoreland Country Club in St. Peter.
Jonah Cooper of New Ulm received medalist honors after shooting a 76. Kelton Schmitz followed with a 77, while Matt Saffert and Josh Cooper logged an 82.
New Ulm improves to 4-1 on the season and will participate in a meet on Friday in Jordan.
St. Peter girls 397, New Ulm 411
ST. PETER – Corinne McKeeth was the medalist and led New Ulm with a 90 in the South Central Conference loss to St. Peter Tuesday.
Miriam Jakel shot a 99 and Tasha Holm shot a 109. Julia Schaefer finished with a 113 for New Ulm.
The Eagles are at Jordan Friday and Saturday.
