Robert “Bobby” Nonnemacher
NEW ULM – Robert “Bobby” Nonnemacher, 83, of New Ulm, died Monday, May 6, 2013 at the New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 10 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with Monsignor John A. Richter celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery with full military honors being conducted by the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-10 a.m. Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday. To sign the guest book or to leave an online condolence for his family go to www.mvfh.org.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Helen of New Ulm; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Galen Dallmann of New Ulm; sons and daughters-in-law, Terry Nonnemacher of Lago Vista, Texas, Thomas Nonnemacher of New Ulm, Robert L. Nonnemacher of Gurnee, Illinois, Larry and Kris Guggisberg of Roseau, Jason and Danielle Nonnemacher of Rosemount; eight grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Margaret Nonnemacher, Alice Schwab, Doris Weise, Richard and Gladys LeGare, all of New Ulm, and Margaret Michaletz of Owatonna.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Walter “Boobie” Nonnemacher.
Robert John Nonnemacher was born May 11, 1929 in New Ulm to Leo and Elvina (Gareis) Nonnemacher. He graduated from New Ulm Public High School. Bobby served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1951 to 1952. On June 26, 1952 Bobby was united in marriage to Helen Guggisberg at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. Bobby managed the New Ulm V.F.W. Club and worked at the New Ulm Post Office for many years before retiring at the age of 62. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting, woodworking, and loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, the New Ulm V.F.W. Post 1648, and the New Ulm American Legion Post 132.
