MOUNDS VIEW -New Ulm defeated Mounds View Friday in a nonconference softball game.

Brittney Denn was the winning pitcher for the Eagles, going three innings, giving up no hits and striking out four batters.

Ellie Schneider went 3-for-4, she scored two runs, had three doubles and two RBIs.

New Ulm (16-2) hosts St. James at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the first round of Section 3AA tournament action at Harman Park.

Wabasso 17, C/CM 3

WABASSO – Wabasso scored eight runs in the first inning en route to a win over C/CM Friday in a Tomahawk Conference softball game.

Kimberly Frank was the winning pitcher giving up three hits, walking one batter and striking out seven.

Callie Rohlik was on base four times and she scored three runs.

Brittany Lemcke had a triple and one run for the Rockets.

Wabasso (8-3, 6-2) will host Southwest United Tuesday afternoon in the first round of the Section 3A tournament. Murray County Central then plays Windom at 4:30 p.m. in the second game and the winners meet at 6 p.m.

C/CM will play Cleveland at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the first round of the Section 2A, North Subsection playoffs in Sleepy Eye. The winner of that game plays No. 2 seed Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s at 6:30 p.m.
