MLC Class of 2013 graduates
NEW ULM – “The Power of Moses has the power to change us,” the Rev. Mark Zarling told the Martin Luther College (MLC) Class of 2013 at their Commencement Service Saturday in the student center auditorium.
“You have your fears and weaknesses like Moses, so you need to pray to God, like he did,” Zarling said. “Through the Gospel, God has already taken you through Palestine. Jesus goes with you to the garden. Go, take this which is powerful and serve sinful people struggling with sins just like you. All are sinners.”
Zarling told graduates that satan will test them but God is stronger than satan and he will boomerang the Gospel right back to them. He said God’s power will destroy their doubts and give them rest.
Martin Luther College prepares men for pastoral training at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, prepares men and women for service as teachers and staff ministers in the synod’s churches, schools, and other institutions; prepares men and women for other full and part-time church ministries; prepares international students for ministry in partnership with Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) mission fields; and provides continuing education programs to meet synod needs.
Graduates earned Bachelor of Science in Education, Bachelor of Arts degrees and Master of Science in Education degrees. Eleven individuals completed the MLC masters program and comprised its sixth graduating class.
