NEW ULM – Alice Selma Rader, 78, of New Ulm, died Sunday, May 19, 2013, at the New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m., Thursday, May 23, at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm with Pastor John Gabrielson officiating. Burial will follow at a later date.
Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Thursday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm.

Alice is survived by her sons, Alan (fiance Kitty Rolloff) Rader of Searles, Dean (Tammy) Rader of New Ulm; grandchildren, Chase Rader, Andrew Rader, Hunter Rolloff, Gabrielle Rolloff, Tatiana Rolloff; sister, Ruth Rusten of Madelia; brother, John (Karen) Rusten of Waconia; and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Richard Rader on May 26, 1988.
Alice Selma Rusten was born May 31, 1934 in Madelia to Gilbert and Helen (Ellingsberg) Rusten. She graduated from Madelia High School with the class of 1952 and then attended Gale Institute in Minneapolis. On July 20, 1966, Alice was united in marriage to Richard Rader in Clark County, Nevada. Alice worked for many years with State Bond and Mortgage before becoming a homemaker in 1967. In 1982, she began working at the Fireside Restaurant and then in 1984, Alice and her husband started Rader’s Used Cars where she continued working for over 20 years. Alice enjoyed reading, watching the birds, and spending time at home, especially with her grandchildren. She will be missed by many.
