Third pastor added to address growth at St. Paul’s
NEW ULM – St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, New Ulm, is experiencing continued growth in membership. As a result, St. Paul’s has added a third pastor.
The Rev. David Bendix will begin his work at St. Paul’s following his installation in a special worship service at St. Paul’s at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, June 2.
Bendix becomes the fifth member of St. Paul’s ministry staff, joining Pastors Timothy Smith and Don Sutton, Family Minister Brandon Steenbock and Church Administrator Ron Schmidt.
Bendix, a native of the Redwood Falls area, is a graduate of Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School, New Ulm. He received his bachelor’s degree at Martin Luther College, New Ulm, and completed his master’s degree at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, Mequon, Wis.
Since his ordination in 2005 Bendix has served Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church in Fairmont, and a mission congregation in Milford, IA.
Bendix also is chairman of the MN River Valley Conference of the MN District of the Wisconsin Ev. Lutheran Synod (WELS).
His wife, Jen, is the director for the MN West Community and Technical College, Fairmont Center. He and his wife have two children.
The public is invited to the installation service and the potluck dinner that will follow.
St. Paul’s is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. The congregation operates the preschool through grade 8 program at St. Paul’s Lutheran School, New Ulm, and is a member of the Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School Association.
