Gerald ‘Jerry’ Meyer
NEW ULM – Gerald “Jerry” Meyer, 83, of New Ulm, died Saturday, May 25, 2013 at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 31, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with Monsignor John A. Richter celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-10 a.m. Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm. The St. Patrick’s Council of the Knights of Columbus will pray the rosary at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Jerry is survived by his daughters, Jean (Fred) Hermanson of Lakeville, Lorette (Chuck) Zinniel of Sleepy Eye, Mary Lou Wiltscheck and special friend Gerald Sellner of Sleepy Eye, Connie Meyer and special friend John Cooke of St. Paul; sons, Ron (Sandra) Meyer of Sleepy Eye, Jon (Kari) Meyer of Mound, Steve (Cary) Meyer of Courtland; 19 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Sylvester (Theresa) Domeier of New Ulm; sisters-in-law, Irene Domeier and Doris Meyer both of New Ulm.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Ann “Peggy” Meyer in 1990; a twin brother Ronald in infancy; and by a brother, Howard Meyer.
Gerald Francis Meyer was born Sept. 14, 1929 in Franklin to John and Marie (Wendinger) Meyer. He was a 1947 graduate of Holy Trinity High School in New Ulm. After graduating from high school Jerry served in the Minnesota National Guard. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Domeier on July 16, 1955 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. After marriage they resided in New Ulm where Jerry was employed at New Ulm Street Department until retiring in 1987 and also part time at Kraft Foods for 17 years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and bowling.
Jerry was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity and the St. Patrick’s Council of the Knights of Columbus.
