Wilfred “Willy” Schuft
WINTHROP – Wilfred “Willy” Schuft, 90, of Winthrop, died Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Center in Winthrop.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, June 1, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winthrop, with burial in the Winthrop Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m., Friday, May 31, and 10-11 a.m., Saturday, June 1 at the church
Wilfred Albert “Willy” Schuft was born on September 5, 1922, in Brownton to Alvin and Emma (Schauer) Schuft.
He served in the United States Army Air Corps from March 1945 to August 1947. During World War II he served in Hawaii and the Philippines.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Schuft of Winthrop; children, Kathleen Benson of Winthrop, Richard Schuft of Brownton; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brother, Verl Schuft of San Diego, CA.
