Tyson “Ty” Raitz
WASECA – Tyson “Ty” Raitz, 35, of Waseca and formerly of New Ulm, died Friday, May 31, 2013, as a result of injuries he sustained in an automobile accident near Waseca.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 5, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with Monsignor John A. Richter celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30-10 a.m. Wednesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm.

Ty is survived by his sons, Connor Raitz, Gage Raitz both of Mankato and Xavier Raitz of New Ulm; parents, Jan (David) Schrimpf of New Ulm, Sam Raitz and his special friend Karla Eades of Waseca; grandfather, Herb Brunner of New Ulm; grandmother, Mary Raitz of New Ulm; sister, Alyssa “Bean” (Dan) Sellner of Courtland; nieces, Avarey and Delaney Sellner; a nephew, Dayne Sellner; stepsister, Afton Schrimpf; stepbrother, Brian Schrimpf; and friends, Kelly Raitz of Mankato and Jessica Gieseke of New Ulm.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Berdell Brunner; and by his grandfather, Harold Raitz.
Tyson Lee Raitz was born October 9, 1977 in New Ulm to Sam and Jan (Brunner) Raitz. He attended New Ulm Schools and then Mankato West High School his senior year, graduating in 1996. He was employed as a restaurant manager at Applebee’s and Bonfire. He enjoyed hockey, golfing, bowling, umpiring, Star Wars and Dork Knight. Ty loved spending time with his sons.
