Virginia Boettger, 94, of New Ulm died Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 7, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with Monsignor John A. Richter celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-10 a.m. Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm. The Christian Mothers Society will pray the rosary at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Cathedral.

Virginia is survived by her daughters, Connie Powell of Mendota Heights, Jane Grundmeyer of New Ulm; a son, Alan Boettger of New Ulm; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph in 1987; and by her sister, Flora Dolly.
Virginia Rose Hauer was born February 7, 1919 in New Ulm to Rudolph and Annie (Beyer) Hauer. She was a 1937 graduate of Holy Trinity High School in New Ulm. Virginia was united in marriage to Ralph Boettger on May 3, 1938 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. After marriage they farmed in Milford Township until retiring to New Ulm in 1976.
She was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, Christian Mothers Society, St. Anne’s Court NCSF, German Bohemian Society and the Lind House Association.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity and the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.
