NEW ULM – Roman Seifert, 63, of New Ulm died Friday, June 28, 2013 at his home in rural New Ulm.
Funeral service will be 10 am Tuesday, July 2nd at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home SOUTH CHAPEL in New Ulm. Full military honors will be conducted by the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard following the service at the funeral home. Roman is survived by his wife, Colleen Seifert of rural New Ulm; daughter and son-in-law, Laura Seifert-Hertling and Michael Hertling of Ramsey; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Sarah Seifert of rural New Ulm; grandchildren, Louis and Monica Hertling, Jayce and Shelby Seifert; sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Wayne Stolt of New Ulm; and brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Ann Seifert of rural New Ulm. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Roman Herbert Seifert was born May 6, 1950 in New Ulm to Chris and Rita (Sellner) Seifert. He graduated from New Ulm High School with the class of 1968. On September 10, 1976 Roman was united in marriage to Colleen Meidl in Sleepy Eye. He worked at New Ulm Quarry for thirty five years, but his love was farming. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, deer hunting, time with his grandchildren, and being with his family and friends.
