County seeks new quote on 2014 health insurance
NEW ULM – Brown County commissioners will act on the Health Insurance Committee’s recommendation to seek new quotes for the 2014 plan year at its meeting today.
Health Partners initial renewal quote indicated an increase of about 19 percent. A reconsideration request by the health insurance committee resulted in a revised quote of a 14 percent increase, according to the Request for Board Action (RBA).
After lots of discussion and considering county co-worker feedback, the committee decided Health Partners proposal was unacceptable and recommended Brown County commissioners make a final request for an improved quote, according to the RBA.
Commissioners will also consider:
A $10,454 annual maintenance agreement with Election Systems & Software, LLC (election software).
A 15-county salary survey committee recommendation to revise the list to five adjacent counties, and by population based on the most recent census, five counties with populations above and below Brown County’s population. If adopted, the 15 counties designated would be used at least until the next census.
The meeting starts at 9 a.m. today in the courthouse commissioner’s room.
