NEW ULM – Dolores Aschenbrenner, 91, of New Ulm died Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with Father Matthew Wiering celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday and will continue from 7:30 until 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, SOUTH CHAPEL, in New Ulm. Dolores is survived by daughters, Beverly Berg of Searles and Mary Pladsen (Charles) of New Ulm; sons, Mark Aschenbrenner (LuAnn) of Courtland and Gary Aschenbrenner and special friend, Marie Thiede, of New Ulm; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and by a sister-in-law, Violet Haas of New Ulm. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Floyd, in 1985, a brother, LeRoy Haas, and by a son-in-law, Donald Berg, in 2008.
Dolores Ella Haas, the infant daughter of William and Mary (Maidl) Haas was born on September 25, 1921 in New Ulm. She attended school at the Holy Trinity Cathedral Catholic Schools in New Ulm. On May 5, 1942 Dolores was united in marriage to Floyd Aschenbrenner at the Cathedral. After marriage they lived in New Ulm. Dolores was employed at the Schroeder’s Bakery in New Ulm for several years and also did house cleaning for various families around the area. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. The family prefers memorials to the Holy Trinity Cathedral or to the donor’s choice.
