A Ride Across America
NEW ULM – Fourteen bikers who are crossing the United States from coast to coast as part of 48-day “Ride Across America” trip designed to raise money for the American Lung Association.
The group started in Seattle, Washington on June 17 and has an end goal of arriving in Washington D.C. on Aug. 3. Their stop in New Ulm on Saturday was one few rest days in their schedule.
The group has already raised its fundraising goal of around $110,000 for the American Lung Association, so they are now focused on making their biking schedule. The funds will go towards the organization’s research, education and advocacy programs.
The riders hail form 10 different states and have been together the entire trip. Their longest distance in a single day has been 112 miles. The total trip is 3,300 miles from start to finish.
