Springfield goes 2-1 in playoffs

SPRINGFIELD – The Springfield Legion baseball team went 2-1 in Sub-Division play this past weekend.

In the first game, Springfield beat Wabasso 5-3. Shawn Anderson got the win in that game, although pitching stats were not reported to the Journal.

Springfield’s sole loss came in the next game in the form of an 11-6 contest against Redwood. The losing pitcher for Springfield was Isaac Kirschstein.

Springfield rebounded in game three, defeating Windom 11-8. Carter Erickson got the win in 6 1/3 innings pitched, while Anderson got the save.

Springfield will move onto division play on Friday at Irish Field in Milroy.
