ARLINGTON – Clarence Otto, age 88, of Arlington, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013, at his home in rural Arlington.
Funeral Service will be Thursday, July 18, 2013, 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord with Reverend Fredric Hinz officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 17, 2013, from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. and Thursday, July 18, 2013, from 7:30 a.m.-8:30 a.m. at Egesdal Funeral Home in Gaylord. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Clarence Frederick John Otto was born on October 19, 1924, in Dryden Township, Sibley County, Minnesota. He was the son of Robert and Augusta (Pomplun) Otto. Clarence was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth. He received his education at a country school in rural Gaylord.
On September 10, 1958, Clarence was united in marriage to Lilah Sickmann at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Dryden Township. They were blessed with five children. Clarence and Lilah shared 54 years of marriage.
Clarence was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord.
Clarence enjoyed farming and gardening. He especially loved spending time with his family. Blessed be his memory.
Clarence is survived by his wife, Lilah Otto of Arlington; children, Duane Otto of Hamburg, Dennis Otto of Gaylord, Linda Becker and her husband, Larry of Rochester, James Otto and his wife, Heidi of Gaylord, and Sharon Stumm and her husband, Mike of Arlington; grandchildren, HillieRe Otto of Watertown, Stephanie Brandt and her husband Kyal of Rochester, Brandon Becker of Rochester, Zachary Becker of Rochester, Lauren Otto of Gaylord, Melissa Otto of Gaylord, Timothy Otto of Gaylord, Lindsey Neisen and her husband, Chris of Henderson, Joshua Stumm of Arlington, Ryan Stumm of Arlington, and McKayla Stumm of Arlington; great-grandchildren, Brody and Cohen Neisen of Henderson; siblings, Elmer Otto and his wife, Irmgard of Arlington, Raymond Otto of Gaylord, Viola Quast and her husband, Milo of Arlington, and Ervin Otto of Cleveland; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold Otto; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Otto and Eleanor Otto.
