Ralph “Whitey” Guldan
NEW ULM – Ralph “Whitey” Guldan, 66, of New Ulm died Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am Wednesday, July 31 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm with Monsignor Douglas Grams celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery with full military honors being conducted by the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard.
Visitation will be 4-7 pm Tuesday and 7:30-10:30 am Wednesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. To sign the guest book or to leave an online condolence for his family go to: www.mvfh.org.
Ralph is survived by several cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ralph Alois Guldan was born May 16, 1947 in New Ulm to Alfred and Aurelia (Hacker) Guldan. He graduated from Cathedral High School with the class of 1966. After high school, Ralph served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1969, serving two years in Alaska. After his service he moved back to New Ulm where he worked at various jobs. He joined in his father’s shoe repair business and in 1973 he took over the business, renaming it Ralph’s Shoe Repair. Ralph was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the New Ulm Country Club, and the American Legion Post 132 in New Ulm.
