NEW ULM – Carol Augusta Hendley, 82, of New Ulm, died Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Oak Hills Assisted Living in New Ulm.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 1 at Oakwood United Methodist Church in New Ulm with Pastor Ric Jacobsen officiating. Burial will follow in Hebron Cemetery in rural Judson.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Thursday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Thursday. Carol is survived by her husband, Rex Hendley of New Ulm; son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Deb Hendley of Mound; grandchildren, James Hendley of New Ulm, Jennifer (Mike) Pomeroy of Mound, and Kevin Hendley of Mound; three great-grandsons; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Domas of Victoria; a nephew; and a niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter Donna Harrell on July 18, 1978 in California; a brother, Richard Kohn; two sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law.
Carol Augusta Kohn was born Dec. 5, 1930 in Courtland to Roy and Augusta (Werner) Kohn. She attended rural country school and later New Ulm Public School. On Dec. 5, 1954, Carol was united in marriage to Rex Hendley at their home on the farm in rural Courtland. Carol enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, and traveling with her husband Rex. Carol was a member of the Oakwood United Methodist Church in New Ulm.
