NICOLLET – Barbara Meurer, 64, of Nicollet died Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at her home in rural Nicollet.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet with Pastor Ronald Siemers officiating. Burial will follow in the Hebron Cemetery.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Rick T. Meurer of rural Nicollet; daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Jeffrey Klingfus of Prior Lake, Wendy Meurer of Hudson, Wis., Cindy and Troy Hewitt of Nicollet, Angela Meurer of Brussels, Belgium; grandchildren, Bailey, Zachary, Colton, Trayton, Noah and Lucas; sisters and brothers-in-law, Janet and Chuck Kramer of Canton, S.D., Phyllis and Al Gag of New Ulm, Rita and Gene Dorn of Nicollet, Karen and Rich Shaffer of Duluth; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Lois Seibel of New Ulm; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Elaine and Lloyd Zimmerman of Nicollet, Marlys and Clete Wenner of Nicollet, Bonnie and Tom Bartlett of St. Peter; and by many nieces, nephews, classmates, and friends. She was preceded in death by her infant sister, Marie Seibel; and her parents.
Barbara Jane Seibel was born Oct. 15, 1948 in New Ulm to Clarence and Marion (Forbrook) Seibel. She was elected Homecoming Queen by her graduating class of 1966 at Nicollet High School. On Oct. 14, 1967, Barbara was united in marriage to Richard T. Meurer in Nicollet. She worked at Tropicana and Farmers and Merchants Bank in New Ulm. She was a farmer’s wife, and worked alongside her husband for 45 years. She even received a “Young Farmer’s Wife Award” in 1972. She also worked at Carlson Craft in Mankato for 15 years. Barbara loved to bowl, travel, read, play cards, and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet.
